Libraries Australia online

Online access to the combined catalogues of all the major libraries in Australia is now up and working. It is called Libraries Australia and is accessed through the National Library of Australia site. A few searches for material known to exist shows that the service throws up most of the hits at major libraries, with a few surprises at less well known libraries. It is certainly quicker than searching individual library catalogues.

German internships

Deutsche Welle (Germany’s ABC/BBC) has two internships for radio journalists in Bonn in its English language department and one in the Online Service. The internships are for six months, are salaried, and DW pays return airfares. Entries close on Friday 10 February 2006.
