Free Online Training Courses for Journalists

A limited number of free places are available for two online courses -

* Intermediate Website Development
* Introduction to TV News Reporting

produced by the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association and the Thomson Foundation.

The courses involve 12 weekly modules and an online discussion forum from Friday May 9th 2008 to Friday July 25th 2008.

Participants will study each module for up to an hour with approximately one hour additional work per week on written assignments which will be emailed to the tutors.

The courses are free of charge, but places are limited. Application details and forms are available on the Thomson Foundation website.

It is called Libraries Australia and is accessed through the National Library of Australia site. A few searches for material known to exist shows that the service throws up most of the hits at major libraries, with a few surprises at less well known libraries. It is certainly quicker than searching individual library catalogues.
