Oncology award

The Clinical Oncological Society of Australia (COSA) is calling for nominations from journalists with a commitment to high quality cancer reporting for its Luminous Award Australia 2006. There are two categories - print and broadcast - each worth $5,000 and the winner and highly commended entrants are nominated for the global competition.

Libraries Australia online

Online access to the combined catalogues of all the major libraries in Australia is now up and working. It is called Libraries Australia and is accessed through the National Library of Australia site. A few searches for material known to exist shows that the service throws up most of the hits at major libraries, with a few surprises at less well known libraries. It is certainly quicker than searching individual library catalogues.
